STUDY ON GRANITE PROCESSING PLANT The Rough Blocks that are received from Granite Quarries are unloaded from the trucks that transport in the Block Yard using a Gantry Crane. The Blocks are inspected by qualified inspectors for defects. Blocks with major defects are stored separately or sent back to the quarry.

Large machinery is brought in to extract (or quarry) the granite from open-pit mines using wire saws or diamond wire saws. Quality control already starts here. After quarrying, much of the stone is sold in blocks, and that which is cut into slabs is then split to make other smaller products such as sidewalks, wall blocks or paving stones.

With a 100 % export-oriented unit, in Hosur, Aro is the largest exporter of processed granite in India, with a production capacity od 1 million Square-meters/year. The new factory in Jaipur is close to raw materials in North India.

Lots of study has made on the quality cutting of granite, that the effect of both the process parameters and textural properties on the cutting performance in terms of the depth of cut of the granite in addition to the quality of cut surfaces by Izzet Karakurt, Gokhan Aydin, and Kerim Aydiner.

Those blocks that pass the quality controls are sent to the gang saws (cutting machines) where the sawing process begins. Traditionally, granite blocks were cut by the machines to obtain slabs of the thickness, sizes and finishes required for their final use in the destination works.

Granite resources are largely in South India and Marble deposits are largely in Western India (Rajasthan & Gujarat).India is one among the countries in mining exports of granite. The factories which are in south India have mission to produce the granite slabs with export quality.
